"The Silence of Winterland" is a darkly romantic love song. The lyrics deal with the inevitable transience of love and the fact that lovers reunite at some point after death in a cold paradise, the winterland. It was the final piece that I composed for "The Children of the Moon" and it was the piece that was produced the quickest. The creation was an almost unconscious process, the likes of which I have rarely experienced.

That's what I make music for. To mould the musical idea that comes simply and unconsciously from the soul into a final track that makes me and others happy in the end.

And new music from DEEP IMAGINATION is in the making. A new single will be released next and as soon as the release date is fixed, we will announce it. Stylistically, the new track continues on the path "From Ambient to New Dark Wave". I would describe it as a dreamy, darkly romantic and melodic track. Achim von Raesfeld and Ann Kareen Mainz can also be heard on it again.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank music editor Stephan Schelle and Empire Musikmagazin for their interest and the DEEP IMAGINATION interview in issue 5-23, where I had the opportunity to talk in detail about my solo project and the current album. I would also like to thank music editor Claudia Zinn-Zinnenburg and Orkus Musikmagazin for their kind and respectful treatment and the great DEEP IMAGINATION story. And my thanks go to all friends and listeners and all the reviewers who have reviewed and honoured the album in a benevolent way.

During the production of the previous album, I realised that stylistically I wanted to go back to where my roots and beginnings as a musician were. Back in the early 80s I met Achim von Raesfeld and we quickly realised that we were on the same wavelength, both humanly and musically. We became good friends and founded a gothic band together. We were totally into new bands like The Cure, Dead Can Dance or The Chameleons and wanted to sound like them. We were greenhorns and self-taught, but we quickly managed to create something ourselves that sounded similar to the music of our heroes.

That was an important experience in my early musical life and I remembered it and realised that there was still something deep inside me that needed to come out. There was still something unfinished, because our bands at that time lost each other and disbanded without leaving even one decent recording.

This was also an impetus for a new production at the end of 2020, on which I also did the lead vocals for the first time since then. We were in the studio together and I thought, yes, this is exactly right that Achim is here, this is exactly how it has to be now. It's hard to describe. I'm incredibly happy that we did this, it's like a late fulfilment that you wouldn't have expected.

In the end, it's like we're still these young guys inside, expressing a certain attitude and idealism through our music. Then as now, it's the fascination that music like dark wave and goth triggers in us. That's why we make them. This was and is euphoria and consolation at the same time and an expression of the positive melancholy that dwells within us. DEEP IMAGINATION's new album stands for all of this. It is a metaphor about a musical life and arriving, we are "The Cildren of the Moon", we are the children of our time and that is what we stand for with our music.

The album is also a small anniversary and my 10th album altogether that I am allowed to release with my projects via BSC Music/Prudence. I am infinitely grateful for that!

Parallel to my dream of making a new atmospheric darkwave album, I'm also working on a new video clip, which I will also release with the album. Last year was a very creative year for me and I composed new pieces that you can hear on the album. Likewise, the release of the video single "Find Your Own Way" was a nice experience and the feedback on it was really outstanding. And by the way, being asked to be part of the Fifteen Questions Interview project was really a very big honour for me.

For the New Year, let's look confidently to the future, make the most of our time and enjoy life. Let's work on our dreams and make our visions come true.

For my last album "My Silent Celebration" there were wonderful reviews, feedbacks and great successes, which inspired me a lot. For me, albums always mean to travel great distances as well. An album is like an era that you close and then start a new one.

It was time for me to go into myself and reflect and ask myself the questions, what was good, what I have completed, what excites me and what I have not done so yet. The question, what kind of new music do I want to create now, and then go to work with a new album vision.

The answers to this result in a vision to further explore the core of my musical roots and create an atmospheric dark wave album. This work is still in progress and the album is not finished yet. But the new single "Find Your Own Way" gives a glimpse now and will also be on the new album. By the way, my old friend and new guest guitarist Achim von Raesfeld will contribute his typical wave guitars on all tracks of the upcoming album. As well as in the new video clip "Find Your Own Way", for which I could also win him as the protagonist of the story.
